چکیده

Introduction/Background Peritoneal carcinomatosis-associated ileus is frequent in advanced-recurrent ovarian/peritoneal/fallopian cancer and affects the quality of life due to severe symptoms obstruction.CT-guided insertion percutaneous gastrostomy (CT-PG) a new minimal-invasive treatment option within palliative management gynaecological patients. Methodology Based on retrospective analysis we evaluated 18 patients undergoing radiologic between September/2015 April/2022. Clinical characteristics, complications, symptom-relief,need secondary interventions surgery for ileus, ability receiving chemotherapy mortality were identified.CT-guided was applied by Seldinger technique local anesthesia. Results The indication CT-PG peritoneal all 15-patients had already undergone frustrating endoscopic (PEG) placement or operation prior insertion.CT-PG could be successfully placed at 14 without any major interventional complication other than bleeding which conservatively managed. commonly observed metabolic after hypokalaemia requiring parenteral substitution. FOLFOX3 in heavily pretreated patients with metastatic colorectal cancer.

BACKGROUND The combination of oxaliplatin, 5-fluorouracil (5FU) and leucovorin (LV) has shown to be active and safe as first- or second-line chemotherapy for metastatic colorectal cancer (MCC). PATIENTS AND METHODS The outcome of patients with MCC who had progressive disease after at least two lines of palliative chemotherapy and who were subsequently treated with oxaliplatin, 5FU and LV was ...

Topotecan Monotherapy in Heavily Pretreated Patients with Progressive Advanced Stage Neuroendocrine Carcinomas

BACKGROUND Neuroendocrine carcinomas (WHO grade 3) are highly aggressive tumors with an immense tendency to metastasize and with a poor prognosis. In advanced disease, there is no standard treatment beyond first-line platin/etoposide-based chemotherapy. Topotecan is widely used as second-line treatment in small cell lung cancer, which also responds markedly on first-line platin/etoposide. Hence...

Feasibility of Oxaliplatin, Leucovorin, and 5-Fluorouracil (FOLFOX-4) Chemotherapy in Heavily Pretreated Patients with Recurrent Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

PURPOSE The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of oxaliplatin, leucovorin, and 5-fluorouracil (FOLFOX-4) chemotherapy in heavily pretreated patients with recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). MATERIALS AND METHODS Clinical data were reviewed in 28 patients who received FOLFOX-4 as more than the second-line chemotherapy, consisting of 85 mg/m(2) of oxaliplatin ...

A case series of low dose bevacizumab and chemotherapy in heavily pretreated patients with epithelial ovarian cancer

BACKGROUND The addition of bevacizumab to standard chemotherapy prolongs progression free survival in the first line treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), but its cost/effectiveness is debated. We assessed the safety and activity of a lower dose of bevacizumab in pretreated advanced stage EOC. METHODS We treated 15 patients, mostly with platinum resistant EOC, who had received a media...
